Top 4 things to do in Los Angeles (Plus Vlog #4)

Top 4 things to do in Los Angeles (Plus Vlog #4)

Number 1: get your nose pierced.

JOKING, although we did actually do that (sorry mum and dad)

We had 5 days in L.A so we did a LOT of walking. It turns out the buses there come as and when they like rather than when the timetable says and for a city that is THAT big it can be pretty frustrating. If you can, I would really recommend trying to tie in different ‘things to see’ together so you don’t have to go back and forth, wasting a lot of time waiting for buses which may in fact never come!

#1 Griffith Observatory/the Hollywood sign

Even if you are not into hiking this is a must when you come to L.A. There is a bus (forget what I just said about buses not being reliable, this is just a shuttle bus going up and down) you can get up to Griffith Observatory. From there you can go into the Observatory where there is some pretty cool interactive things to do – and I’m not into science – lots of look out points/picture opportunities and also a cafe, although maybe bring your own food if you don’t want to spend all your money in one go!

We actually came up here twice, once we took a hiking route from Griffith Observatory and just wandered as and where we wanted (obviously some photos were taken) and the second time we went into the park at a different entrance and made our way closer to the Hollywood sign which is actually a lot harder to do than we expected!

#2 Venice beach and Santa Monica Pier

If you are like me and come from England something to be aware of is UV rays are stronger here. Much stronger. We were on the beach all day thinking it wasn’t that hot, that evening we looked at each other and we both looked a little ‘pink’ and the next day are faces were SO puffy we spent pretty much all morning lying on the bed with a cool facecloth on our faces! Anyway even if you aren’t a beachbabe you will love Venice beach, with the muscle beach, the sidewalk that goes all the way long and you can rent smoothers, rollerblades, bicycles or just walk it! It is also a huge beach so I wouldn’t worry too much about crowds, but if you’re going in peak season try to go on a work day (for those unlucky people who have to go to work) to give you even more space. We went to Santa Monica pier after the beach, got chips, watched the entertainment while the sun was going down and just enjoyed the atmosphere. What’s not to like?!

#3 Los Angeles County Museum of Art

You may not have heard about it by this name before but you will probably recognise the photos? And is that not an excuse enough to go? We didn’t actually get to go into the museum as it was closed but the lights are definitely better to see when it’s dark, literally.

#4 Walk of Fame

This is a great way to explore some of L.A because there are SO MANY names, they just go on and on. Make it your mission to find your favourite singer, actress, director etc etc!

Have you got longer? Why not go to; Disneyland, Beverley hills, Universal Studios or Runyon Canyon Park.

For you lucky souls who want to watch what we got up to in L.A. Check out my vlog I put together! Enjoy xo

If they aren’t the above, what do you want to see in Los Angeles?! I would love to hear, comment below!
